Varietà dall'Africa. E’ stato portato dai portoghesi nel 15° secolo e poi la pianta si è adattata al nuovo ambiente. Conosciuto anche come "diavolo rosso africano", cresce in Malawi, Sud Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambico, e le foreste tropicali del Sud Sudan e la parte meridionale dell’Etiopia. 50.000 - 100.000 SHU.
